Biographies

All of our instructors are top-class fencers, with many also having corporate experience. They can therefore tailor games and activities to your needs, helping you to get the most from your team building days.

Nick Payne

The founder of Sword Fighting International, Nick has fenced since he was 10 years old. Former England Captain, he has been the number 1 foilist in Australia and is a Commonwealth Games bronze medalist.

Nick also has plenty of corporate experience, working in Business Information, Anti-Money Laundering and Risk Management in some of the world’s largest financial centres. He therefore knows how important the skills that fencing can develop are: focus, precise goals and determination have helped him to both fencing and corporate success.

Ben Morel

Ben has worked with Sword Fighting International since our launch. As well as being an instructor, he is also our Marketing Executive. With a background in offshore finance, Ben has coached fencing at several clubs across the South East and in the Channel Islands.

A formidable opponent with a sabre, Ben has a keen eye and plenty of experience in coaching new fencers and in team building, and knows how to bring out peoples’ strengths and remedy their weaknesses - just the kind of instructor you want for your team building days.
